MUNI Mendel Doctorandus welcomes the new semester with new students and a brand-new logo

The MUNI Mendel Doctorandus programme for talented PhD students opened another admission procedure in January 2023. A total of 14 students across the faculties of the Bohunice Campus and CEITEC applied, and members of the MMD Committee reviewed their applications. After the evaluation, all applied students were admitted to the programme.

Vice-Dean for Doctoral Studies: Doctoral students deserve a salary for their research work

One of the main goals of Vice-Dean for Doctoral Studies Luděk Bláha, who is in his second term as Vice-Dean, is to improve the position of Doctoral students and the quality of Doctoral studies. He himself completed his Doctoral studies at the Faculty of Science. According to Luděk Bláha, however, the biggest impetus for the developmental changes he is preparing in this area were his stays abroad.

The MUNI Mendel Doctorandus programme has been officially launched!

Although the launch of the new program for active PhD students took place during the PhD day on September 14, 2022, we now had the opportunity to meet the newly enrolled students of the MMD programme face to face for the first time. The meeting took place on October 25, 2022, in the outdoor area of the Bohunice University Campus and was held in a casual and relaxed atmosphere.

A Look Back at PhD Day 2022

On 14 September 2022, the Bohunice Campus became the host of the inter-faculty PhD day. The event was designed as an information session for new PhD students, providing them with the necessary information regarding doctoral studies, interdisciplinary training opportunities, student competitions, and presentations of popular mobility programmes.

Brno PhD talent 2022

The Brno City Council and the South Moravian Centre for International Mobility have prepared a competition for students in first-year of PhD studies, offering long-term financial and career support for 25 talented PhD students in the form of a scholarship of up to CZK 110,000 per year for three years.
